During November 2024 – February 2025, the first round of the All-Ukrainian competition “Teacher of the Year-2025” was held in Ivano-Frankivsk, the participants of which demonstrated high pedagogical skills, scientific knowledge, creative approach and focus on the formation of subject and key competencies. This year, the professional competition was held in the nominations: “Foreign Literature”, “History”, “Labor Training/Technologies”, “Chemistry”.
The chairman of the jury, which included five specialists in the field of history teaching methods, teachers, lecturers, etc. (including Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History Tamara Vyacheslavivna Halytska-Didukh), was Candidate of Historical Sciences, Methodologist of Social Disciplines at the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education (IFOIPPO) Valeriy Vasylyovych Ostrovsky. The participants of the competition at the regional level were 10 history and civic education teachers from Ivano-Frankivsk region, the absolute majority of whom were graduates of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, majoring in “Secondary Education (History)” or “History” (until the new classification of specialties was created). The participants presented their skills, knowledge and experience to the jury members, conducted lessons for which each member of the commission awarded points. The competition was held publicly, all protocols are posted on the IFOIPPO website. In the “History” nomination, the winner of the competition was a former graduate of our Faculty, a history teacher at the Mykola Sabat Scientific Lyceum, Volodymyr Semyonovich Polovsky. The winners of the competition were identified as Olga Konstantinovna Yaroshevich, a teacher at Lyceum No. 1 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, and Liliya Romanivna Kalmuk (Budynkevych), a teacher at Lyceum No. 6 “European” of the Dolyna City Council of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History congratulates the winner and laureates of the competition, who studied at our faculty at different times and whom we know well.
Liliya Kalmuk (Budynkevych) is our graduate of the master’s degree in the specialty “Secondary Education (History)” in 2020, was a bachelor at the department, is currently studying in the postgraduate program of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in the specialty “History and Archaeology” and is working on a dissertation on the history of Ukraine.
