On February 6, 2025, a competition of student scientific works on history was held at the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations. The head of the jury was Tamara Vyacheslavivna Halytska-Didukh, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, the members of the jury were Mykola Dmytrovych Vitenko, associate professor of the Department of History of Central and Eastern Europe and Special Branches of Historical Science, and Bohdan Valeriyovych Paska, leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians.
5 students of the specialties “Secondary Education (History)” and “History and Archaeology” took part in the competition. The topics of the works mainly concerned the study of the new and modern history of Ukraine – from the development of Ukrainian Hutsul studies to the processes of decolonization in independent Ukraine.
According to the results of the competition, the following winners were determined:
First place – Sylka Elizaveta Leonidivna (“History and Archaeology”, 4th year, group IA-41), title of the work “Soviet Ukrainization as a Means of Rooting Bolshevism”, scientific supervisor Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Drohobytska O.Ya.;
2nd place – Kharchenko Olha Olegivna (“Secondary Education (History)”, 3rd year, group SOI-31), title of the work “Artist of Freedom: Fate and Creativity of Sergei Paradzhanov (1924–1990)”, scientific supervisor Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Korolko A.Z.;
3rd place – Ivasyuta Yuliya Vasylivna (“Secondary Education (History)”, 4th year, group SOI-41), title of the work “Decommunization and decolonization processes in Ukraine (1991–2025)”, scientific supervisor Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Yegreshiy O.I.; Shepitak Nataliya Romanivna (“Secondary Education (History)”, 4th year, group SOI-41), title of the work “Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars: a historical overview of relations between the two peoples (XX – early XXI centuries)”, scientific supervisor Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Korolko A.Z.;
IV place – Kalynchuk Yana Bogdanivna (“Secondary Education (History)”, 4th year, group SOI-42), title of the work “Folklore and Ethnographic Studies of the Hutsul Region in the 19th – early 20th centuries”, scientific supervisor Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor I.Ya. Raikivskyi.
