A meeting of experts was held regarding two key international projects of the university

On February 18–19, the traditional two-day annual working meeting of experts on the projects of the International Scientific Center “Observatory” (ISC) of the Precarpathian and Warsaw Universities on Mount Pip Ivan and the International Center for Meetings of Student Youth of Ukraine and Poland (ICZ) was held in the village of Mykulychyn (Ivano-Frankivsk region). The meeting was attended by the acting Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa, Vice-Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Yaroslav Shynkaruk, Member of the Supervisory Board of the PNU Yana Stadilna, Head of the Botanical Garden of the PNU and Coordinator of the IZH project in Mykulychyn Roman Stefanyuk, Head of the Department of Biology and Ecology, Coordinator of the Ecological and Meteorological Directions of the MNC Myroslava Mylenka, Director of the Astronomical Research Station of the MNC Volodymyr Troyanskyi, Scientific Secretary of the MNC Ulyana Semak, as well as Polish partners – Director of the East European Studies of the University of Warsaw Jan Malitskyi, Director of the Polish Institute in Kyiv Yaroslav Godun, Head of the Department of Scholarships, Internships and Promotions of the VU Mateusz Hniazdowski, Head of the Administration of the East European Studies of the VU Grzegorz Kruszec.

The Acting Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa opened the meeting. He presented the projects to the experts and emphasized that the partners still have many tasks to complete, which were discussed during the meetings.

Director of the East European Studies Department of the University of Warsaw, Jan Malitski, positively assessed the work of the Observatory. He also announced to the experts the program of the event for the laureates of the prestigious Jerzy Giedroyc Competition at the premises of the International Center for Academic Research in the village of Mykulychyn. Its goal is to start discussions between the academic youth of the two countries with a meeting of students and young researchers who were awarded this year for the best bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses dedicated to Polish topics, as well as Polish-Ukrainian relations. They have been invited to the International Center for Student Youth Meetings in the village of Mykulychyn for interesting scientific debates on the topics of their works.

The next day, the heads of scientific areas of the International Scientific Center “Observatory” – Head of the Department of Biology and Ecology, Coordinator of the Ecological and Meteorological Areas of the MSC Myroslava Mylenka, and Director of the Astronomical Research Station of the MSC Volodymyr Troyanskyi presented the results of their activities to the participants of the meeting. They also spoke about further research prospects.
